Cycling Projects in Las Vegas: Trails, Tunnels & Bike Parks

LAS VEGAS VALLEY · CYCLING & OUTDOOR RECREATION

New trails, a major trail undercrossing and a dedicated bike skills park are changing how people can ride in Southern Nevada. This guide covers cycling projects in Las Vegas and the surrounding valley, including the Red Rock Legacy Trail, the Charleston & 215 tunnel project and Desert Flow Bike Park.

Updated October 6, 2026. Project stages differ, and construction schedules can change. The official agency links below are the place to confirm openings, closures and route access before a ride.

Red Rock Legacy Trail: Summerlin to Blue Diamond

The Red Rock Legacy Trail is planned as a nearly 19-mile multi-use route from the edge of Summerlin to Blue Diamond Road. Its purpose is to provide a paved walking and cycling connection through the Red Rock Canyon area, separate from highway travel along portions of the route.

Clark County describes the project as five phases. Its current project page lists Phase 1 as underway: an initial 0.99-mile segment from Charleston Boulevard and Sky Vista Drive to the Red Rock Canyon marker. That work also includes relocating the marker and adding a parking area. The County lists a future Phase 1 extension, with a start date still to be determined.

The full planned route is not yet available as one completed trail. Check the official Red Rock Legacy Trail project page for maps, phases and current updates.

Charleston & 215 Tunnel: Western Beltway Trail Connection

The Charleston Boulevard and CC-215 project is a trail undercrossing designed to carry pedestrians and cyclists beneath roadway crossings at the interchange. It is part of improvements to the Western Beltway Trail in the western Las Vegas Valley, near Summerlin.

Clark County’s February 25, 2026 construction update described planned closures to install precast concrete boxes for the underground trail tunnels. The County also lists Western Beltway Trail improvements among its construction projects. Confirm the latest opening and closure information before using this section.

Desert Flow Bike Park at Southwest Ridge

Desert Flow is a 17-acre bike skills park under development at Warm Springs Road and Fort Apache Road in the southwest Las Vegas Valley. Clark County’s project page reports that construction is underway.

The plans focus on riding progression, with pump tracks, skills areas, flow trails and progressive jump lines. The County’s 2025 annual report listed an expected opening in the fourth quarter of 2026. Treat that as a planning target and confirm public access with the County before visiting.

Follow the official Desert Flow Bike Park page for the location, design and opening updates.

RTC Bike Maps and Downtown Las Vegas Bike Share

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada provides bicycle maps to help riders compare routes across the Las Vegas Valley. Use the RTC bicycle maps and interactive route resources when planning a trip, and check for local closures along your route.

RTC Bike Share serves Downtown Las Vegas. It is a separate resource from the western valley trail projects and Southwest Ridge bike park. Its live station map shows where bikes and docking spaces are available.

Regional Street Safety and Cycling Planning

Trail construction is one part of the region’s cycling infrastructure. RTC’s Complete Streets initiative considers people walking, bicycling, riding transit and driving when planning streets.

RTC announced federal Safe Streets and Roads for All funding for a regional safety action plan in 2023. That is a planning effort; it should not be read as confirmation that any particular buffered bike lane or intersection project is already complete. See the RTC safety action-plan funding announcement for the original scope.
